At Barnes, not only do we take care of our patients, we take care of our people. We host a comprehensive patient care team that truly cares about our teams’ growth and development. As a family run business for over 100 years, Barnes Healthcare treats you as one of our own. Barnes has an amazing team of over 300 employees. Nearly half have been with us for over 10 years. We believe this speaks volumes within the healthcare industry.
Leave job insecurity behind and discover the Barnes difference. We encourage employees to become the best version of themselves.
Take it, first hand, from a few of our own. Our team member, Lori Lacy, is the Director of Community Pharmacy Enhanced Services and has been with the company for 25 years. When asked about the Barnes value that encourages improvement, Lori states, “Barnes is not afraid to try something new. I always challenge my team that if they see a new opportunity or a better solution, try it. And if it does not work, then go back and look and see why it didn't work and how we can improve upon it.”
Lori also speaks upon the benefits that Barnes offers around work-life balance. The family-orientation of the business and the opportunity to work, while successfully being a mom to her kids, is what kept her here for so long. She says, “I was there at all activities for my children. They never missed a beat and I never missed a beat at work. And you know, you don't find that often.”
Whether it be our patients or our people, it is Barnes’ mission to provide quality care, above all else.
Barnes is truly the patient’s advocate. We are invested in their quality of life and this is why our relationships with patients go so deep. We look at patients as more than just a number and strive to make real improvements in their health. Barnes believes that every patient truly deserves an at-home healthcare advocate that cares enough to equip patients with the knowledge, resources and support needed to improve their health.
Not only do we put forth the utmost care for our patients, but also for our valued employees. Barnes holds weekly team meetings, 1-on-1s, and we meet together in team activities outside of work. We focus on coaching and encouraging team members to become the best versions of themselves.
A great example stems from our Clinical Systems Product Manager, Macy Youngblood. She says, “My role allows me to be involved in the clinical side of Barnes, basically making things better for our patients and creating a better patient experience.
In healthcare, things are always quickly changing. Barnes healthcare is one of the front runners, in my opinion, in leading the transformation of healthcare. Not only with our technology but our wonderful team that puts patients’ priority at the top.
We work hard at trying to find the best ways that we can provide the clinicians with all of the resources that they need to truly give these patients a better quality of life.”
With Barnes being based and headquartered in a smaller community-based environment, many of our employees have grown up knowing our mission and what we stand for.
Our Director of Nursing Operations, Amanda Martin, stumbled across a PRN Infusion Nurse position 13 years ago and was thrilled to share her gratitude for Barnes over the years. Amanda met her husband and has now raised her family in Valdosta. Barnes has been there since the early 1900s and is now part of her story. She says, “I just want to try and be a very small piece of that legacy.”
Amanda shares, “Each location has really embedded themselves within the community. One of our fundamentals is making a positive impact within the community and every office takes that to heart.”
At Barnes, our employees are here for the long haul and we pride ourselves on making that part of our legacy. Our employees truly care about the work they’re doing for our patients and strive to provide high-quality services. Join the Barnes legacy and apply today!
